Wireless Cell Towers as Community Markers

For as long as cell towers have been around there seems to be a dearth of original design and thinking about them.  One of the objectives of cell towers is to hide them but they could also be embraced and used to identify a community.  In the following examples the small community of Glassell Park in Los Angeles wanted to use a proposed tower to mark their name in the larger community.

 The cylindrical tower below is based on a design at Los Angeles International Airport that is lit from within while also radiating light outward

This design is based on an abstraction of an angel.  Appropriately enough the City of Angels could have angels floating above it naming the communities below them

Some ideas one wonders why they haven't been done;  at least not yet.  As far as we can tell, among the miles and miles of riverbank  (albeit much of it concrete) there is no place to sit and have a bite and sip a glass of wine while watching the water (or trains) go by.  

The Los Angeles River is not all concrete, there are miles with a natural river bottom, and there is some water flowing all-year round.  So, where's a good place to open a restaurant to and watch the water?
